PPAC Parents

For Parents

Why hire a PPA?

Perinatal Patient Advocates are trained to support you beyond hip squeezes and cold wash cloths. They are skilled communicators, who will show up unafraid to help you explore all of your options. PPAs are independent, honest, and transparent. A PPA will help you bridge your knowledge gaps, communicate effectively with your providers, and maintain your autonomy in decision-making.

Most PPAs are also experienced birth professionals (doulas, midwives, nurses, etc.), and have a foundational knowledge of physiologic birth and of medical birth options. When in the role of a PPA, they do not perform clinical tasks or give medical advice.
